I'm said it before, I do not have a green thumb. I killed a cactus once. Plants and I don't mix.
That being said, I blindly ignore the truth and forge ahead trying to make stuff grow anyway. For that, I need some advice. I currently have basil and potatoes growing in pots in my kitchen. The basil has grown really well and now its totally filling the pot and getting quite tall. The potato, against all odds, has sprouted. (My aloe plant is fine but as its a cactus I'm not too worried about it...or maybe I should be worried more? I don't know.)
What I would like to ask all of you gardeners out there is when should I re-pot the plants? I feel like the basil is outgrowing its container but that may mean I should just use some of it. I also feel like the pot the potatoes are in are not sufficient for potato growth and maybe it should be moved into a big pot on my patio. What do you think?
Thanks!
Kate
